Curious George Live Review | IZOD Center East Rutherford, NJ Jul 28th, 2010
On Saturday morning, along with my husband’s parents, we took with the iTwins to see Curious George Live at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ. Curious George is their FAVORITE show to watch on TV, so when the opportunity came to see Curious George Live, we couldn’t pass it up!
We went to the 11:00am show and arrived just before 10am. There was good crowd already gathered waiting for the arena to open.
First task: potties and spinning Curious George lights!
Going to a show with Grandma and Grandpa means that the iTwins were certainly spoiled with goodies while they were there :) We made our way down the escalators and to our floor seats. The seats we got were awesome because they were right in front of the aisle so that we could easily get up with minimal disruption.
The iTwins sat and played with their spinning lights until the music started and the curtains opened.
When the show started, they were captivated from start to finish. I was worried because they are on the younger side (ages almost-2 and almost-3) that they wouldn’t have the attention span…but I was wrong. The were loving every minute of every silly monkey scene.
The show opened with a lot of lights and colorful characters & costumes as the cast performed the familiar Curious George Theme Song – it was awesome! The show is all about how George goes on a fun-filled adventure in his quest to win the Golden Meatball Contest in Rome.
I was amazed at how the characters were so true to the characters in the TV show — they were brilliant. The props and quality of the show was just like you’d experience on Broadway.
The iTwins were certainly entertained!
We had a wonderful time and I would certainly recommend seeing this show with all of your little silly monkeys. We loved spending the afternoon together with Grandma & Grandpa and as a family.
The iTwins have also been talking about “Dancing George” for the past few days now…this show really stuck with them.
With all the excitement of the day, it was a quiet ride home.
